To Be One, Ask One

To Be One, Ask One

From the East – December

Brethren,

This month is always a busy one. It is the end of the year. A time that often has work pressures as business close their financial books and we may struggle to meet professional commitments. It is a time of social obligations with end of year and holiday gatherings, parties and celebrations. There is the fun of the holiday family preparations‐ decorating, shopping, traveling. In the lodge we are installing a new line and learning advanced stations. It all seems like a blur, somewhat out of control and suddenly over. In some cases we over indulge and go to excess which may create financial stress later or let out our stress and frustrations. Keep things in perspective remembering the working Entered Apprentice Working tools. Try to divest your mind of the superfluities, excesses and vices. Keep an even keel. Divide your time logically between work, family, religious and social functions. Make sure to enjoy this time and reinvigorate yourself. You will find it amazing how much the basic truths of our Craft will keep it all in perspective.

It has been an honor and pleasure to serve you this past year. It has been personally rewarding to see the progress we have made and our newly raised members engaging in the lodge. Last December it seemed daunting, yet in a blink of an eye it is over. Thank you for your support, time and efforts on behalf of the lodge and please continue. Like most aspects in life you will benefit from Masonry in proportion to what you put into it.

Fraternally

Russ Bauer, Worshipful Master
