From the East – December 2023
Greetings Brethren,
Freemasonry has long been associated with principles of brotherhood, charity, and moral up-rightness. In our Closing Charge, we are reminded that, “Every human being has a claim upon your kind offices.” This notion stems from the fundamental Masonic values of equality and compassion, which extend beyond the boundaries of race, religion, or social status. We as Freemasons assert that all individuals, regardless of their background, deserve respect, support, and assistance in times of need.
Our commitment to the betterment of society goes hand in hand with the idea that we as individuals have a duty to uplift their fellow human beings. This duty extends beyond the Masonic fraternity, encompassing the broader community. We, as Freemasons are encouraged to engage in acts of kindness, charity, and enlightenment, thereby contributing to the overall progress and well-being of humanity. In essence, the claim on the kind offices of Freemasonry is a call to action for individuals to embrace their shared humanity, cultivate empathy, and actively participate in creating a more compassionate and harmonious world.
Fraternally,
WM Rigil Abellanosa
