From the East – January 2022
It is my hope that Medford Lodge will continue to grow and prosper in this New Year. I look forward to serving as the Lodge’s master in 2022 and it is my sincerest hope that we will all continue to be of one mind and do good to all.
A theme that I propose for this year is to spend time in the study and reflection on how “good men become better.” More precisely, I invite all to reflect on how each of us can transform from a “rough ashlar to a more perfect ashlar.” In addition to advancing through the degrees and studying ritual and symbols, what is the ideal frame of mind to achieve this goal? What might make it harder or easier towards this goal? What insights may be necessary? What do we have to let go or take on? When do we know this goal has been achieved?
I invite all the Brethren to share their questions, insights, and solutions regarding this process or any other matter of importance. I view my role in 2022 as a facilitator, who insures that the Brethren are satisfied with their experience at Medford Lodge.
