Greetings Brethren,

There is no doubt that Music can heighten and excite our experiences. It can move and sway our emotions. It can even recall memories long thought to be forgotten. You can reflect symbolically on the principles of Harmony and Unison in the Elevated Science of Music.

Harmony can be used as a metaphor for the harmony that should exist among Masons and in society as a whole. This can be seen where individuals from different backgrounds come together in harmony and work towards common goals. Harmony can also be represented by the blending of different voices or instruments in music, which creates a beautiful and unified sound.

Unison can also be represented in music through the singing or playing of the same note or melody by multiple voices or instruments, creating a sense of unity. In Freemasonry, Unity can be expressed as a symbol of unity and accord. This can be seen through our ritual, where we move and act in unison, and the conclusion of prayer.

Harmony and Unison represent the values of unity, cooperation, and solidarity that are essential to the fraternity’s mission of creating a better world. By embodying these values, we seek to create a world where people work together to achieve common goals and make a positive impact on the world.
